While we know that the 2018 Ford Focus will probably be longer and wider than the current model, we don’t have any idea about what it might look like.
All we’ve seen so far are test mules which concealed pretty much any and all next-gen features that might have allowed us to draw any good conclusions. We did however see a new hood with a seam in the middle, which was accurately replicated here in this render by RM Design.
Other than that, the design borrows heavily from the current generation Mondeo/Fusion, with elements such as the shoulder line or taillight LED pattern being easily recognizable. The taillights specifically remind us of the updated 2017 Fusion’s, however in this case we’re looking at a more unified design (similar to what we see on the Edge) that would probably help the car look even wider from behind.
In terms of tech, the next generation of Ford compact hatchbacks should poach whatever they can from their larger sibling, which means the latest SYNC with voice recognition, plenty of connectivity features, advanced safety features and perhaps even the CCD suspension with pothole mitigation.
