Volkswagen has started taking orders for the updated Up! across Europe, with prices in Germany starting from €9,850 ($10,980).

The smallest car in the German brand’s lineup gets modified bumpers, headlights with LED DRLs, side mirrors with integrated indicator lights and tweaked taillights, joined by a selection of new exterior colors, contrasting roof shades, decal designs and colored alloy wheels.

The reshaped Up! can also be equipped with the optional “maps + more dock”, as VW names its smartphone integration, that can be linked via Bluetooth, becoming an infotainment system with on-board computer and navigation function. Other changes made to the cabin include updated seat fabrics and optional automatic air-con and multi-function steering wheel.

Along with the two familiar petrol engines, producing 60 PS (59 HP) and 75 PS (74 HP), there is a new 1.0-liter TSI turbocharged 3-cylinder unit joining the range, rated at 90 PS (89 HP) and paired to a manual transmission.

On top of the regular Up!, Volkswagen offers the Up! Beats special edition too, which is priced from €13,150 ($14,660). It has a new 300W audio system with an 8-channel amplifier, seven high-end speakers, two tweeters, two woofers, two broadband speakers and a subwoofer, plus special decals and larger alloy wheels.
