Despite having stated that a vehicle smaller than the 1-Series is out of the question, BMW has reportedly shifted focus and will go Audi A1 hunting with a smaller hatchback.
If the info coming from Motor turns out to be accurate, then the upcoming vehicle will be built on the firm’s UKL platform, the same one used on the second generation X1, on the 2-Series Tourer models and also across the MINI range, meaning that it will have front-wheel drive.
The 1-Series‘ smaller sibling is believed to hit the market under the 0-Series moniker and, if everything will go as planned and the German manufacturer will green light it, then it should be revealed in the second half of 2017, with a public premiere made at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in the same year.
