Seeing a set of pictures with Liberty Walk’s widened Ferrari 458 Italia in one thing, but a video really puts things into perspective. Visually and aurally.
The mid-engine exotic automobile was an attention grabber to begin with, but Liberty Walk managed to push the envelope even further with its unique style and approach – albeit this type of tuning is best suited for the underground streets of Japan, as it looks out of place in posh Monaco. But that’s exactly what makes this particular encounter so special.
Either way, the vehicle doesn’t seem to feel at home with the extremely aggressive aspect and wheel fitment that emphasizes the JDM motorsport culture more than anything. Ferrari’s roots might be buried in motor racing, but in another form; a form which doesn’t necessarily spoils Pininfarina’s design with non-immersive bits and bobs, added for the sake of stunning the onlookers.
Still, the crowd – mostly composed of teenagers – loves every part of the car, especially the raw, visceral sounds it makes. Usually, along with the AirREX air suspension system that sometimes gets commissioned with the package (and slams the car to the ground), a custom exhaust is chosen as well. The result can be heard in the video below.
