Mazzanti’s goal of rolling out Italy’s fastest road-legal production hypercar has the Evantra taking center stage.
Based on the already available exotic, the EV-R benefits from improved aerodynamics and sets itself apart with a new front bumper, different hood, larger air scoop, different pattern for the wheels and large rear wing, developed using F1 technology.
“In order to create this extreme hypercar, we applied technologies coming from motorsport that none else have ever used on street-legal car before. We were able to turn a passive force into an active one. The heat flow coming from the engine is thus extracted and directed to the rear wing ‘Ala Soffiata’, which in this way works efficiently even at low speed, augmenting its positive effect with the increasing of the speed“, Luca Mazzanti explains.
Full specs of the Mazzanti EV-R have yet to be released, but previous info revealed that the Italian model is capable of going from naught to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds and will keep accelerating all the way up to a top speed of 250 mph (402 km/h). Responsible for sending it there is a 7.2-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, with 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft), which is probably an updated evolution of the Evantra’s 7.0-liter powertrain, rated at 751 HP and 860 Nm (634 lb-ft) of torque. The EV-R will sit under the spotlights on June 8, at the Turin Auto Show, in Italy.
