Popular Ford tuning specialist announced their first batch of goodies designed for the new Focus RS.
Mountune calls them the ‘Phase 1’ upgrades as they are easy first-off mod solutions to further improve things like the induction noise and the performance, reduce the engine movement, provide with shorter-throw gear shifts and bring some interior and exterior customization.
These upgrades include a set of lightweight 19-inch OZ wheels which are 1.5kg lighter than the OE forged rims, upgraded hoses and air filter, roll restrictors and more importantly a Quaife limited slip differential.
Mountune had early access to development mules and calibration data in order to soon offer a full range of accessories and performance parts that have been “extensively tested to ensure perfect fitment, function and reliability” for the fast Ford.
The tuning firm will eventually launch a full performance upgrade kit, just like they did with the Fiesta and Focus ST, which has been finalized at the Nurburgring but is not yet signed off. Mountune didn’t share any details on the horsepower gains but they said that “the power and torque improvements are very noticeable, as is the reduction in 0-60mph time and other performance attributes” in their press release.
Mountune offers factory-backed tuning solutions for the Fiesta ST and Focus ST models on both sides of the Atlantic. The new Phase 1 accessories for the Ford Focus RS are available for purchase via the company’s online shops.
