Lincoln is boasting about their signature Approach Detection technology on the 2017 Continental, which they say, always treats customers to a “luxurious warm and inviting welcome”.
The system first made an appearance on the 2015 MKC, enabling the vehicle to sense whenever the driver came within a range of up to 8 feet (2.4 m) – as long as he or she was carrying the key fob.
Same goes for the Continental, where the system offers fast responses both inside and out, with features such as the illuminated welcome mats, glowing door handles, signature LED accent lights and pulsating push-button start light.
Those who opt for Select, Reserve and Lincoln Black Label versions of the all-new Continental will also enjoy dynamic exterior lighting which basically wraps the car with illumination, but also sequential ambient lighting for the interior.
“The Lincoln Approach Detection does more than just turn on lights,” says Sheryl Connelly of Ford Motor Company. “It allows Continental to welcome you as if arriving at a friend’s house for dinner, or checking into a resort. It makes you feel at home where you have everything you need and you are in a serene and familiar space.”
The all-new Lincoln Continental will arrive in US dealerships this fall.
