Subaru has expanded the Outback and Legacy range with the addition of two new trim levels, Touring and Sport.
Outback Touring models are set apart with a dark gray grille and similarly finished 18-inch wheels, low-profile roof rails and chrome badging, joined by a new color option called Brilliant Brown.
The interior features Java Brown leather with ivory stitching, woodgrain finish and piano-black switch panel accents, along with standard items such as heated steering wheel and 7.0-inch Starlink Multimedia Navigation with voice control.
The new Outback range-topper is powered by either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with 175 HP, or a 3.6-liter six-cylinder, producing 256 HP.
Debuting on the 2017 Outback model line is the Reverse Automatic Braking, which uses four ultrasonic sonar sensors located in the rear bumper cover, while the brand’s EyeSight Driver Assist tech with Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are offered at no extra cost, paired with the High Beam Assist.
The 2017 Subaru Legacy Sport features gloss black housings for the front fog lights, dark gray grille, new 18-inch wheels and chrome rocker trim, joined by two-tone gray and black cloth upholstery inside with exclusive blue stitching on the seats, steering wheel and door panels and piano black accents.
Subaru’s Starlink infotainment system, with a 7.0-inch LCD screen, is offered at no extra cost, while the Reverse Autoamtic Braking and High Beam Assist are part of the optional EyeSight Driver Assist tech.
Power comes from a 2.5-liter boxer engine, rated at 175 HP and paired in standard with the Lineatronic CVT with manual mode and paddle shifters, returning an EPA-estimated 29 mpg (8.11 lt/100 km) combined.
