Jay Leno takes a look at a truly stunning Ford Fairlane build which now packs 650hp and an active aero brake.
It’s doesn’t really matter if you are not into muscle cars; the huge amount of work put into this 1967 Ford will simply leave you speechless.
Pure Vision Design took a sorry looking light green Fairlane with a six-cylinder under the hood and transformed it into a hypothetical no-restrictions racing prototype while keeping it true to its Ford roots.
After a complete chassis re-engineering which included a major upgrade to the suspension with torsion bars hidden inside the frame, Pure Vision Design installed an all-aluminum Ford 7.0-litre V8 with 650hp mated to a four-speed gearbox.
The car is literally littered with competition-inspired components and endless details, showcasing the craftsmanship behind the build. Even the wheels are one-piece aluminum replicas of those used in the Lamborghini Miura and an active air brake was installed.
And if you thought that the idea of a 650hp 1967 Ford Fairlane will be a loud one, you’re right: the cool side exhausts you see here are currently straight-piped so it can roar like a wounded bear, even on idle.
We tend to praise certain car people from Italy for their artistic skill but these guys are just as good in their own respective field.
