This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed event will host a glittering lineup of drivers in about two weeks time, among which Mercedes-AMG Petronas stars Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
The pair will tackle the famous Goodwood Hill in a 2014 Mercedes F1 W05 Hybrid, marking the first time that a new-generation turbocharged Formula 1 car has ever gone up that course. This is also the same car that helped Lewis Hamilton secure a title during the 2015 F1 season.
This season however it’s Rosberg who has a commanding lead in the drivers standings, with 24 more points over his teammate and three time F1 champ.
Of course, there will be many other celebrity drivers (and riders) at Goodwood this year, with names such as Carl Fogarty, Colin Edwards, Emerson Fittipaldi, Gerhard Berger, Sir Jackie Stewart, Jason Plato, Jenson Button, Ken Block, Martin Brundle, Nicky Hayden, Nico Hulkenberg and even Sir Stirling Moss among the ones standing out the most.
Overall, drivers and riders from all corners of motor sport will attend the world famous automotive garden party, including NASCAR champs, BTTC, World Superbike, Le Mans, WRC, Indycar, MotoGP and of course F1.
Also, here are some very special cars we can expect to be shown off/unveiled on location: MINI Seven, Mazda MX-5 RF, Mercedes-AMG GT R, Lexus LC 500, Renault Twingo GT.
Staged every summer since 1993, this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed is set to take place this month between the 23rd and the 26th.
