Less than three weeks before the 2016th edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed will kick off (June 23-26), Lexus have announced their presence on Lord March’s annual event with the new LC.
Visitors will get to see the V8-powered LC 500 in action, as it will appear in the “First Glance” category on the hill climb, which is reserved for new cars ahead of their market launch.
Taking turns in driving at its helm will be Mike Conway, who will compete at the Le Mans 24 Hours with the Toyota Gazoo Racing team, Grand Am champion Scott Pruett and former F1 and Toyota Gazoo driver Alex Wurz.
Coming straight from the Detroit Auto Show, where it broke cover earlier this year, the coupe adopts a revolutionary styling and rides on a new platform called GA-L. When it will go on sale next spring, prospective buyers will get to choose between two powertrains, the 5.0-liter V8 petrol, mated to a new 10-speed automatic gearbox and rated at 467 HP, and the 500h hybrid, featuring a 3.5-liter V6 petrol and an electric motor, for a total system output of 354 HP, coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Lexus will also the LFA supercar and other performance models, including the RC F, GS F and F Sport versions of the RC 300h, NX 300h and RX 450h.
