Just when you thought that the curious case of spontaneous combustion is limited to supercars, a Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6, modded by Mansory, has turned into a fireball in the People’s Republic.
However, unlike the mid-engined exotics engulfed by flames, there was no high revving involved, as this particular six-wheeled beast decided that bumping into an older Hyundai Santa Fe is shameful enough and refused to be driven away.
No one seems to have been injured in this hot incident, which is more than we can say about the Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6, as images posted by CarNewsChina show extensive damage on the SUV’s right side, roof, rear end and interior, assuring it a clean spot in a scrap yard.
Mansory never really announced how many six-wheeled Mercedes-AMGs have been modified, but each one benefits from additional carbon fiber bodywork components, redesigned exhaust system and an upgraded interior. Tweaking the 3-pointed star’s imposing SUV included new parts under the hood, squeezing an additional 292 HP from the brand’s 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and bringing its total output to 828 HP and an electronically-limited torque of 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft).
