Low-production British sports car manufacturer Noble Automotive has a new model in its lineup, the M600 Speedster, which was shown in a premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Previewed by the M600 Speedster prototype presented in 2015 at the Autosport International, the new exotic carries minor visual changes, but what sets it apart from its Coupe sibling is the targa-style roof, which takes 30 seconds to remove or install. However, since there is no storage space for the roof, one will have to do without it and carefully monitor the weather before taking the car out for a short spin.

Power comes from the same mid-mounted 4.4-liter V8 engine used on the M600, rated at 650 HP and connected to a sequential automatic transmission and not a dual-clutch, “to maintain a raw driver feel”, as the brand’s chief, Pete Boutwood, explained. For the moment, the automatic gearbox is the sole choice, but a manual could become available, on demand, in the future. Full performance specs have yet to be released, but the automaker states that the M600 Speedster can reach a top speed in excess of 200 mph (322 km/h).

The first units of the all-new Noble M600 Speedster will go on sale later this year, but before customer deliveries will commence, the model will undergo European crash testing. Prices should be set around £220,000 ($292,800) in the United Kingdom.
