A couple of weeks ago, racing driver Mark Higgins broke the lap record on the Isle of Man TT, which he himself had previously set, and now, Subaru is giving us a chance to see how he did with a POV video.

Higgins has been constantly breaking the Isle of Man lap records with Subaru, starting in 2011, when he smashed Tony Pond’s long-standing record in a Rover 827 Vitesse from 1990 by more than two minutes, at 19 minutes and 56.7 seconds, with an average speed of 113mph (181.7 km/h) and a top speed of 162mph (260.5 km/h).

Three years later, driving a 2015 Subaru WRX STI, he broke his own record at 19 minutes and 15 seconds, equating to an average speed of 117.510 mph (189.07 km/h), before breaking it again this June.

However, this time, he did not do it in a near-stock car, but with a specially prepped 2016 WRX STI Time Attack car made in partnership with Prodrive with a lot more power under the hood with which he completed the 37-mile (60km) run in 17 minutes and 35 seconds.

The absolute record on the course was set this year as well by Michael Dunlop riding a BMW S 1000 RR bike at just under 16 minutes and 54 seconds with an average speed of 133.9 mph or 215.6km/h.
