We’ve seen many special edition BMWs to come out of Japan, but this is one might raise some eyebrows.
As you’d expect, BMW will offer this special edition X3 for sale in the Land of the Rising Sun to a few lucky aficionados, as only 200 like it will be manufactured
The model, entitled the X3 “Blackout Edition”, is the 9th in a series of special cars made to commemorate the Bavarian firm’s centenary, and it’s described as a cool, urban automobile that unifies the interior and the exterior in harmony with the same shade of black.
Built upon the 2-litre, four-cylinder 181hp and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque xDrive20d model, mated to a ZF 8-speed transmission, the X3 features a black sapphire exterior body, while the cabin is adorned in Black Nevada leather seats and Ansorajitto Roof lining. The only contrasting elements on the entire car are the brushed aluminum interior trims and aluminum pedals, probably made to “lighten” the dark atmosphere.
Additional equipment includes the exterior M Sport Package, which adds a little bit of sportiness to the sinister-looking car, HiFi speaker system, and Blackout dedicated equipment (which includes an engraved interior plaque and leather key cases).
It can be acquired beginning with August 6th for ¥ 6,980,000. That’s $67,879.
