VUHL has announced a lighter, faster and more track-focused version of the 05, set to be unveiled during this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The new VUHL 05RR will be tackling the famous Goodwood Hillclimb with GP2 rising start UK driver Jordan King behind the wheel, who also doubles as a development driver for F1’s Manor Racing.

VUHL relied on the 05’s extensive track development, together with an aggressive approach to weight reduction and new aero solutions in order to build the flagship 05RR, which is more track-focused yet still road legal with plenty of comfort options.

“I am so looking forward to returning to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, with our new 05RR car,” said Iker Echeverria, VUHL technical director. “We have upgraded all the car’s systems to make it faster, more engaging and even more track focused. We feel very close to the UK market, as around 50% of our componentry is developed and produced in Britain, and it is the place we debuted our first car.”

The Mexican sports car manufacturer only released these three teasers ahead of the 05RR’s debut at Goodwood, showing us the chassis, part of the diffuser, the lightweight aluminum pedals and carbon fiber wheels.

Since the regular 05 is able to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, we’re genuinely curious how much faster the 05RR is going to be.
