Finding a Ferrari F40 for sale isn’t hard, but tracking down the right one could be. One rather fine example is currently up for sale on Craigslist.

Produced in just over 1,300 examples, the F40 has long been considered one of the finest supercars ever produced, even frequently held in higher esteem than its Ferrari hypercar successors the F50, Enzo and LaFerrari. Considering this, it’s $1.59 million asking price doesn’t seem all that absurd.

The car in question is a 1990 model and, despite being 26 years old, only has 2,000 miles on the odometer and been awarded Ferrari Classiche Certification. As with all F40s, it is painted in the Italian company’s recognizable shade of Rosso Corsa and sits on those classic five-spoke star-shaped wheels.

The cabin remains one of the finest examples of a spartan, driver-focused cockpit of any car, featuring nothing but the essentials;a simple three-spoke wheel, gated shifter and three aluminum pedals. Alongside those parts, there is a simple gauge cluster, some black carpet and exposed carbon fiber, allowing the driver to focus on nothing but the tarmac ahead.

As with all original F40s, power is drawn from a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivering an impressive 471 hp, enough to make the F40 a rival for much newer performance cars.
