Hyundai is looking to strengthen their US lineup with their 2017 Sonata, now featuring three powertrain options, more on-board tech and the newly available dynamic bending light.

According to the Korean automaker, the 2017 Sonata is the most affordable midsize sedan in its class, starting from $21,600 – that’s $150 less than the 2016 car, by the way.

Aside from its new dynamic bending lights feature, the 2017 Sonata also comes with Automatic emergency braking, smart cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic high beam assist, rear parking assistance system and a blind spot detection system.

Among its standard features you’ll find Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System, 7 airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, ABS & EBD and Brake Assist, body-colored exterior power mirrors, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise control, Bluetooth, plus a Tire Pressure Monitoring System with indicators for each tire.

Optional extras include the hands-free smart trunk system, 8″ sat-nav display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electronic parking brake and Blue Link telematics system.

Base-spec models will be powered by Hyundai’s 2.4-liter Theta II GDI engine, producing 185 HP and 178 lb-ft (241 Nm) of torque, whereas Eco models come with a 178 HP 1.6-liter turbocharged Gamma engine, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Range-topping 2.0-liter Theta II turbocharged GDI models sport 245 HP and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque and come with a six-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission.
