After going on sale on June 24, all 206 special-edition 2017 Dodge Vipers celebrating the model’s 25th anniversary and final year of production, have sold out.
Leading the way was the new 1:28 Edition ACR, whose 28 units sold out in just 40 minutes. The 31 units of the VoooDoo II Edition ACR needed just two hours to find 31 willing owners, while the Snakeskin Edition GTC (25 units) and the GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR (100 units) needed two ordering days in order to sell out. As for the Dodge Dealer Edition ACR (22 units), it hung in there the longest as it sold out within five ordering days.
“From just 40 minutes to five days, the 25th Anniversary special-edition Dodge Vipers sold out incredibly fast, insuring their future collectability,” said Dodge exec Tim Kuniskis. “Our customers are asking, so we’re adding one more special edition – the Dodge Viper Snakeskin ACR.”
Dodge also announced they will make 31 units of the new Snakeskin Edition ACR in order to keep the 25th anniversary Viper celebration going, but also to give customers something they obviously want. The car’s color is inspired by the original 2010 Snakeskin ACR, featuring a custom snakeskin-patterned SRT stripe, ACR Package, Extreme Aero Package, carbon ceramic brakes, ACR interior, serialized instrument panel Snakeskin badge and a custom cover that matches the exterior. Orders for the Snakeskin ACR will open in mid-July.
Also, the regular ACR, it’s set to return for 2017 with what the automaker calls “significant aerodynamic and suspension upgrades,” which should rightfully compliment a model that’s already set more track records than any other production car in the world.
