Ford is going the extra mile to ensure owners of the 2017 GT are offered the best service possible, requiring dealerships to invest heavily into specialized equipment and spaces to work on the supercar.

An internal document obtained by the team at All Ford Mustangs reveals that dealerships will be required to invest over $30,000 into workshop improvements including unique servicing equipment and a custom transport trailer.

Furthermore, only certified Ford GT dealers will be able to access spare parts and submit warranty claims and only a small portion of Ford technicians will have the chance to work on the GT. Existing Master Ford technicians will be given the opportunity to undertake extensive technical training at the Multimatic facility in Ontario to ensure that they know the car inside and out.

What’s more, it is possible that a ‘Fly-in-Doctor’ service will be offered by Multimatic to help troubleshoot or service a car no matter where in the world it resides. In serious cases, the car will be shipped back to the production facility and repair center at Multimatic HQ.

Additionally, Ford GT service dealers will be required to construct a so-called ‘clean room’ restricted to the GT and certified service technicians when repairs are being carried out.
