If your put an absolutely spine-tingling sound on the top of your priorities, then the “humble” GT350 Mustang is more than up to the task.
Its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 barks even louder once you flip a switch inside the car – and, judging by his reaction, Alejandro (Salomondrin) was pretty impressed as well.
He does state, however, that the car doesn’t start with the exhaust valves open and doesn’t sound as loud inside as he thought it would, but you’d still be hard pressed to find lots of other V8-powered cars that sound as throaty as the GT350.
The video itself starts off with his own GT3 RS 4.0, which he absolutely adores. It’s not just the sound, that’s very race car-like: the “4.0” is actually the final evolution of the 997 GT3 RS, featuring a 4.0-liter flat-six engine, good for 500 PS (493 HP) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque, and it’s a rare, and very desirable, piece of kit.
Last, but not least, comes the Corvette Z06. Unfortunately, its limiter that doesn’t allow it to rev over 4,000 rpm when stationary. Not a fair fight, then, for the ‘Vette, which has a big, bad V8 lurking under the hood – but it still sounds great as far as we’re concerned.
