As mobile devices are now part of our lives, Kia Motors America is winning a few extra points with certain vehicle owners by expanding the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Aimed towards the 2017 Forte, 2015-2016 Optima and Optima Hybrid, 2015-2016 Sedona, 2014-2016 Soul, 2015-2016 Soul EV, 2016 Sorento, and 2017 Sportage, the free software upgrade, which is compatible with a navigation system or UVO3, is set to become available later this month.
“Providing CarPlay and Android Auto to a greater number of vehicles in our lineup will revitalize our current owners’ systems with an additional element of convenience while maximizing the benefits of connectivity“, said the brand’s Managing Director Connected & Mobility Services, Henry Bzeih.
Owners of new and pre-owned vehicles eligible for the upgrade will be notified via email to register at myuvo.com for instructions on how to download the latest software and how to install it. After all steps will be completed, they will be able to connect their Android and iOS devices, accessing functions such as Google Maps, Google Play Music, make phone calls, send and receive messages and get directions for traffic conditions, depending on what operating system they are using.
