You’d think that Porsche’s four door saloon reached its zenith, after the Turbo variant clocked an incredible time on the Nurburgring. Well, not necessarily.
Currently, the 550PS/542hp and 770Nm/568 lb-ft 4.0-liter Panamera Turbo is Porsche’s top spec sedan, capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph (97km/h) in 3.6 seconds (0.2 seconds less if it comes with the Sport Chrono package) and achieving top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).
Perhaps that might not be enough for Porsche and we’re not talking about the Turbo S that’s rumored to boast around 600PS (592hp), but a much powerful variant, that will reportedly borrow the 918’s high-performance hybrid technology.
That’s a bit of a stretch, yet Motor Trend reports that the daddy of all Panameras is described as a 918 with back seats, will use a hybridized variant of the Turbo’s 4.0-liter V8 and “likely” develop 700hp and 800 lb-ft (1084 Nm) of torque.
Four seats and nearly 700 HP? Why not – Ferrari is already there. Speaking of which, why not make that hyper-Panamera a shooting brake, too?
