Jaguar Land Rover’s range of high performance models is set for a significant expansion in the coming years after the firm opened up a new $26 million technical centre for its Special Vehicle Operations division.
According to managing director of SVO, John Edwards, one new SVR version will be launched every year through to 2020.
“Our business plans are driven by the desire for ‘halo’ vehicles and other exclusive products from customers in all corners of the globe. The vision for Special Vehicle Operations is to launch one new SVO car every year, on average, for at least the next four years,” he said.
In the short time since SVO was formed in 2014, the company has created the Jaguar F-Type SVR, Range Rover Sport SVR, F-Type Project 7, Range Rover SVAutobiography as well as those stunning six Jaguar E-Type Lightweight continuation models.
It’s not yet known what other models are in the crosshairs of SVO ,but we could see its badge adorn the likes of the XE, XF and F-Pace crossover.
