Morphing was a big thing in the 1990s. Since then the computer-animation tech has fallen out of fashion somewhat, but we have to hand it to the folks at Donut Media for bringing it back.

The YouTube channel has quickly made a name for itself tracking the evolution of one species of car or another. Its previous animations have charted the progress of the BMW 3 Series and the Porsche 911, but this time the focus is on Le Mans.

The famous 24-hour endurance race has been held (with few exceptions) every year since 1923. And as you might have guessed, the cars in which the race has been won have changed dramatically over the decades.

We could go into all manner of details regarding layout, dimensions, propulsion and performance, but the video does a much better job of it. So check it out, from the Bentley 3 Litre Sport that won in 1924 through to the Audi R18 that took the checkered flag just two years ago.
