UK customers can now order the facelifted VW Beetle as the company revealed pricing and range details of their retro model.
VW has updated the Beetle’s exterior with a sharper-looking front bumper that features larger openings around the indicator and fog light surrounds, LED taillights, new alloy wheels and a pair of paint options.
The interior has also been freshened up, with brighter instrument panel lighting, new dials and the introduction of new upholstery materials, giving customers a much wider range to choose from when configuring their cars.
Also new to the range is the sporty R-Line and Dune versions, with the latter trying to mix the retro looks with a more adventurous appeal. The former will be available only in conjunction with the 148hp 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine and the choice between a manual or an dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The sportiest of the Beetles also benefits from a sports suspension, 18-inch ‘Twister’ alloys and an exclusive R-Line front bumper. The body also features a body-coloured rear diffuser, chrome twin exhausts, gloss black door mirrors and the obligatory tailgate spoiler.
The cabin now hosts special ‘Sports’ instrument dials, aluminum-trimmed pedals, R-Line scuff plates and a three-spoke steering wrapped in leather with coloured stitching. The seats are finished in ‘Kyalami’ cloth with the R-Line badge on the headrests while dual-zone climate control, parking radar and cruise control are offered as standard.
The range of the updated Beetle kicks off with the 103hp 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine, priced at £16,820 for the Coupe and £19,775 for the Cabriolet. R-Line models start at £23,540 for the Coupe and £26,930 for the Cabriolet, with the Dune version priced from £21,280.
