Koenigsegg doesn’t ask its employees to drive great cars, but most of them do it anyway.

If you’re wondering what it takes to be one of the world’s greatest, innovative supercar manufacturer that crafts iconic machines with astonishing attention to detail, the answer (probably) is a passionate team. And Koenigsegg, like its employees, doesn’t use many words to describe its passion, but lets the cars do the talking instead.

The Swedish car maker recently had a “family day” dedicated to its staff, and welcomed them to bring their loved ones, and their cars, to the factory. The result is a gathering that can put many car meets to shame, and here’s a small selection of some of the cars that came.

The American car culture in Sweden is strong, so it comes as no surprise to see a Mustang, a Charger, a Camaro and even a Mercury Grand Marquis GS among the protagonists. Speaking of American cars, the red Tesla Roadster was owned by Koenigsegg for a little while, and then bought by one of the employees.

The assembly counted for some top-notch European and Japanese rides as well, including a BMW 1M, a Mazda MX-5 (belonging to Koenigsegg’s test driver) and a rather special, resto-modded Opel Kadett with a C20LET taken from a Calibra (good for 240hp), a BMW gearbox and a Volvo rear axle.

Nevertheless, the attention grabber was the 1.8-litre Nissan 200SX, which had a better specific output (HP per liter) than the One:1. Yes, a bit over 482 HP from an old, humble Nissan doesn’t even come close to the outrageous hypercar, but it’s the same philosophy. Kind of, anyway.
