Being more of a luxury coupe than a performance-focused sports car, the Bentley Continental GT is designed to be easy to drive. This despite offering over 600 horsepower in Speed spec. But one version in particular is a bit more than a handful than most.
That version, of course, is the Continental GT3 – the stripped out racing model that competes in the Blancpain Endurance Series and numerous local and regional championships.
It bears more than a passing resemblance to the road-going model, but underneath the body shell it’s quite a different beast: all that heavyweight luxury equipment is gone, as is the all-wheel drive system. In its place is carbon-fiber everything, and no more equipment than it needs to compete.
That leaves it feeling like a rather different beast than the grand tourer on which it’s based. And as the affable Ben Barry found out first-hand in this latest video for Car magazine, it’s a bit trickier to drive.
