With its exclusive styling and extra oomph, the facelifted Nissan GT-R Nismo is now available for order across Japan.
It carries an 18,700,200 Yen ($186,342) starting price and benefits from a carbon fiber front bumper, redesigned canards, updated mesh pattern for the dark chrome V-motion grille and reinforced hood to avoid deformation at high speeds, combined to generate more downforce than any other production car made by Nissan, up to date.
The enlarged 8-inch touch-panel monitor with large icons takes center stage in the cockpit, along with a new Display Command Control located on the carbon fiber center console, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, redesigned dashboard, leather-wrapped Recaro carbon fiber bucker seats with red Alcantara inserts, and Alcantara wrapped steering wheel and center armrest.
Nissan’s engineers have refined the GT-R Nismo’s shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers, the all-wheel drive has been upgraded and the 3.8-liter V6 engine has been massaged to produce an additional 30 PS (30 HP) on top of the standard 2017 GT-R, up to a total of 600 PS (592 HP), pushed to the wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Aside from the 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo, the automaker has also launched the “Track Edition engineered by Nismo” in the Land of the Rising Sun, described as “a fusion of Nissan GT-R Nismo’s rigid body structure and suspension, with the specifications and form of the GT-R standard model”. Prices for this version kick off from 13,699,800 Yen ($136,515).
