Land Rover has just unveiled the most efficient variant of the Range Rover Sport ever with the inclusion of its 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel to the family.
Available from the 2017 model year, the 2.0-liter equipped Range Rover Sport produces 240 hp and an impressive 500 Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 8 seconds flat. Most importantly, it returns 45.6 mpg on the EU combined cycle and emits 164 g/km of emissions.
The engine may not fit with the model’s ‘Sport’ name, but it certainly provides customers with an interesting alternative to the familiar 5.0-liter supercharged V8.
Alternatively, customers in the UK are now also able to opt for the company’s 3.0-liter supercharged V6 petrol engine. Also found elsewhere within the Jaguar Land Rover family, this powertrain pumps out 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-60 mph time of 7.1 seconds. It emits 243 g/km of carbon emissions.
Alongside these engines, British-bound 2017 Range Rover Sport models now come with a plethora of additional technologies and safety equipment, as with the rest of the updated range. That includes the firm’s Advanced Tow Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Intelligent Speed Limiter.
The latest model year Sport is also adorned with the latest InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. Featuring a 10-inch screen, up from the eight-inches of before, the system has been simplified and also includes the Pro Services system, allowing owners to download and install apps directly into the system.
Finally, updated Autobiography Dynamic models will be available with 19 additional colors from JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations Division.
