The Ferrari F355 is arguably one of the most beautiful mid-engine models that came out of Maranello.
Time has been very kind to its shape while the spine-tingling soundtrack it makes sounds even more melodic now that we are surrounded by turbocharged cars.
Powered by a 3.5-litre V8 naturally aspirated engine, the F355 makes 375hp which is more than enough to make you smile every time you exercise the right pedal. Everything sounds and looks ideal, but that’s where the servicing costs arrive.
You see, the F355 was the last mid-engine Ferrari that required an engine-out major service every three years. That work alone can cost up to $15,000 which puts the whole argument of owning one of these beauties into a whole new prospective.
At least it sounds absolutely fantastic and drives well too, so maybe some people wouldn’t mind spending a small fortune on servicing alone. Matt Farah drives a very nice slightly modded example on his latest One Take episode.
