Ever since we first saw Ford’s next-generation Fiesta undergoing typical fully camouflaged tests, we’ve also learned about its increase in size compared to the current model, as well as its rumored bump in cabin quality.
With the 3-door model, we’re looking at basically the same recipe for a 2017 modern-day Ford supermini, except that with two fewer doors.
This car seems to be identical to the 5-door model we saw two months ago. They’re even covered up in exactly the same way – though just like we did with the 5-door, we can tell that the sportier version also gets a wider front hexagonal grille and horizontal taillights (unlike the current model’s vertical ones).
Inside, we’re expecting better quality materials and less buttons, with most of them being integrated into a bigger touchscreen display housing Ford’s SYNC3 software for music, navigation and connectivity.
In terms of power, the car will feature new 3 and 4-cylinder EcoBoost units, with a more potent RS model still a possibility for later on.
Ford’s all-new 2017 Fiesta is expected to arrive before the latest incarnation of one of its biggest rivals, namely the next VW Polo, which is also said to boast an upgraded interior in terms of quality, as well as improved connectivity features.
