Audi has come out with a new special edition of its Q2 crossover. Evidently taking a page from Merc’s playbook, it’s called the Edition #1 and is designed to give the compact sport-ute a more rugged look.
Previously announced for the UK with limited details and no photos, the Q2 Edition #1 is now revealed in full. It comes in a special shade called Quantum Gray, with the S line package as standard, including its sportier bumpers, side skirts and rear diffuser insert. It also gets blacked-out C-pillars and mirror housings, with titanium-black trim on the grille and bumpers and anthracite-finish 19-inch wheels.
The treatment continues inside with adjustable sport seats, multifunction steering wheel, color-adjustable LED ambient lighting, gray headliner, and two-tone black and light brown upholstery in fabric and leather.
Buyers (in Europe at least) will be able to order the special Q2 in any of the engines in which the standard model is available. That boils down to a 1.4-liter turbo four and a 2.0-liter diesel, with a 1.0-liter turbocharged inline-three soon to follow along with a larger 2.0 TDI, outputs ranging from 115 horsepower to 150. The order books open early next month with deliveries to begin in the fall.
