We got ourselves a batch of spy photos that are the first proof of Porsche working on a Coupe version of the next Cayenne.
Porsche is interested on expanding their crossover range, with the first model to come out of this strategy to be the Cayenne Coupe, a genuine rival for the likes of the BMW X6, the Mercedes GLE Coupe and the soon-to-be revealed Range Rover Sport Coupe.
Do not be afraid though as the car you see in these pictures is nothing more than a test mule wearing a modified Panamera body, with the final car’s design expected to be entirely different. And it better be so.
Engines and transmissions will off course be shared with the regular Porsche Cayenne that is still under development. The range will consist of the brand’s new V6 and V8 engines that debuted in the Panamera.
There is also an unconfirmed report running around the web, suggesting that the upcoming Cayenne Coupe will also come with a purely electric drivetrain, using the same tech with the also planned for production Audi Q6 E-tron, to rival the Tesla Model X.
The new Porsche Cayenne Coupe is expected to hit the market around one year after the regular Cayenne is launched.
