Next season’s Formula E grid is all but wrapped up, with most teams having confirmed their driver lineup. The one notable holdout has been newcomer Jaguar, who has reportedly signed (but not yet confirmed) one driver and is evaluating several others for the second seat on its forthcoming debut season.

According to Motorsport.com, the Brit outfit already has a deal in place with Adam Carroll. The 33-year-old Northern Irish driver has won races in numerous categories of formula racing, including Formula 3, GP2 and the now-defunct A1GP series (where he was crowned champion in 2009). He’s also competed in DTM, British GT, Le Mans and even Indy, giving him a wide range of experience.

To join him in the second car next season, Jaguar is reportedly trying out at least three more drivers. 22-year-old British driver Alex Lynn is a former Formula Renault and GP3 champion and has served as a test driver in F1 for both Lotus and Williams. Jaguar has partnered with Williams to run its Formula E team, running out of its headquarters while it sets up its own at Donington and using Williams staff to get up and running.

The team is giving at least two more drivers a shot at the seat. New Zealand’s 22-year-old Mitch Evans is also a former GP3 champ and a multiple GP2 race winner, while 24-year-old Brit Harry Tincknell switched from single-seaters to Le Mans prototypes several years ago, winning the LMP2 class Le Mans in 2014 and currently leading the European Le Mans Series championship.

Just which driver gets the seat alongside Carroll will likely depend largely on how they perform in pre-season testing this week at Donington Park, the UK circuit where Formula E and all its teams are based.
