Jaguar is so confident with its XE sedan that as of next week, UK showrooms will offer prospective customers the chance to test drive the three main rivals of the XE.
Throughout the first weekend of September, dealerships will offers test drives in the three main rivals to the Jaguar XE to show customers that the British option is the best car in the class.
Although Jaguar stopped short of naming those three keys to avoid giving them any free publicity, they’re likely to be the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4.
According to Jaguar Land Rover UK managing director Jeremy Hicks, “Our offer is simple: if you are interested in test driving a Jaguar XE, but are uncertain about how it will compare against its key rivals, then contact your local Jaguar retailer and arrange your own personal group test. It’s a bold move, never done before by a manufacturer in the UK, but the Jaguar XE speaks for itself. It is the best looking car in its class, appealing to the heart but with class-leading running costs that add up to a shrewd financial purchase.
“It’s a class leader across the key measures of efficiency, performance and cost of ownership and absolutely holds its own in the most hotly contested sector of the market against the most established players in the world. We know it, the critics know it, now it’s time for car buyers across the UK to know it – and crucially, experience it – for themselves,” he said.
In the UK, the XE is offered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel delivering 160 hp, a 2.0-liter diesel with 177 hp, a 2.0-liter petrol with 197 hp or 236 hp as well as the 335 hp supercharged 3.0-liter V6 of the range-topping XE S.
