Most SUV enthusiasts will have a soft spot for the G-Wagon, which isn’t exactly underpowered, especially in the AMG G63 edition, but since more is sometimes better, G-Power has come up with a new aftermarket package for the Mercedes-Benz off-roader.
Consisting of a Bi-Tronik 5 V1 power module, which unleashes an additional 74 HP and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) of torque from the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, it brings the total output from 571 HP and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque up to 645 HP and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) respectively.
The extra punch delivered to the wheels allows the Mercedes-AMG G63 to sprint from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.3 seconds, while top speed increases to more than 250 km/h (155 mph). The upgrade does not affect the mill’s standard safety protocols and factory diagnostics system, and if the engine starts to overheat, then the power module will automatically shut down.
Contributing to the SUV’s stance is a new set of black ultra-light Hurricane RR forged alloy wheels, made from aircraft grade aluminum, 11×23-inch in size, with a five double-spoke design, wrapped in 305/35 tires.
Prices for the power module are set at €6,900 ($7,698), while the aftermarket wheels will set you back for €10,045.98 ($11,208).
