Singer’s classic restomod 911s are very expensive, yes, but no garage queens. Far from it.
These cars are frequently ordered by driving enthusiasts, looking to take a step back in time, when driving was involving and free of any electronic intervention or aids. At the recent Sun Valley Road Rally, one owner decided to test out the top speed capabilities of his near million-dollar Porsche and hit an exceptionally impressive 176.2 mph (283 km/h). To put that into perspective, it’s only 7 mph (11 km/h) shy of a brand new 911 Carrera.
As Singer’s 911s are totally customizable, prospective customers can choose between a selection of drivetrains. One of the most popular is a custom naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat six pumping out 390 hp and 315 lb-ft of torque, making for a 0-62 mph (96 km/h) sprint in the low-3 second range.
