Even though we’ve seen lots of updated 911 (991.2) models already, our spy photographers have yet again spotted a camouflage-free Targa GTS going about its business in Southern Spain.
A closer look reveals a sportier GT3-style front bumper, which according to our spies, could come as part of an aero/sport package for the regular version once its launched. Other details include the center lock wheels and the targa roll bar – options that are not available for the current 911/Targa versions at the moment.
As with the rest of the range (except the R & GT3), the refreshed GTS will come with forced induction as Porsche will go with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat six in place of the older, naturally aspirated 3.8-liter unit. A power gain is also to be expected, with somewhere in the vicinity of 30 extra PS being added to the 991.2 Carrera S’ output.
In terms of body styles, the 991.2 GTS will, as before, be available in Coupe, Convertible and Targa bodies with either a manual or a PDK dual-clutch transmission sending power to either the rear wheels or all-four wheels.
Inside, we’re expecting a new steering wheel design plus the latest 7″ touchscreen infotainment system.
