Even though what we have here are three completely different vehicles, at least we can’t complain about any of them being down on power compared to the other two.
So an SUV, a mid-size premium saloon and a compact executive saloon walk onto a drag strip, all of them packing upwards of 750 PS. It may sound a little bit like a joke but there’s surely nothing to laugh about regarding numbers such as these.
The X5 M gets to race both Mercedes saloons, and it first takes on the 750 PS E63 AMG with a Renntech Stage 2 tune. The Bimmer is rocking an Evotech Stage 2 power kit itself, while the lighter and presumably quicker C63 (W204) is backed by a Morendi-Weistec tune, worth 770 PS.
We’re talking some amazingly powerful cars here and while you might think that the lightest one here was the obvious winner…followed by the 2nd-lightest and so on, you may find that things played out rather differently.
In fact, we did not expect the numbers to reflect what they did at all, and that’s about as much as we can say without giving anything away.
Before you find out which car shined the brightest during this drag racing event, here’s the official weight difference between the three models. Fresh out the factory, the previous-gen E63 AMG was heavier than the W204 C63 by roughly 110 kg (242 lbs), whereas the X5 M lugged around another 620 kg (1,366 lbs) compared to the C63.
