Vigilant car spotters have been capturing prototypes of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLA since late 2015, but the latest ones seem just about ready to drop their vinyl stickers.
Despite of what seems to be an imminent unveil of the refreshed compact crossover, the new GLA will actually go on sale next year, as Daimler’s road map revealed this summer.
By that time it will be joined by two AMG GTs, the Coupe, Cabriolet and All Terrain versions of the E-Class, the tweaked S-Class and the anticipated pickup truck. As for the 2017 GLA, it will carry a few visual upgrades on both ends on top of the current model, which will probably go by unnoticed unless you look closely, and will feature tweaked lighting units, redesigned bumpers and new wheels.
Inside, it’s said to receive an upgraded infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen compatible with MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay, while the engine lineup could expand with the introduction of a 102 PS (101 HP) 1.6-liter unit that’s already available on the A-Class hatch, which shares its underpinnings with the crossover.
