By now, you’ve probably grew tired of how awesome the 911 R is; then again, you wouldn’t expect a car like this to come out in 2016.
We live in an era where manufacturers are trying to build cars that are cleaner and faster in every possible way, just to get ahead of the competition and meet the evermore strict regulations. That speed and cleanliness though has one very important to keen drivers victim: the so-called driving engagement.
Porsche though is not a regular car company. It has built its reputation on petrolheads, people who enjoy driving and the 911 R is their gift to them: a 911 with the company’s current best naturally aspirated flat-six engine combined with a new and bespoke six-speed manual gearbox and a chassis setup that can only be described as sublime.
Can you do track days with it? Of course you can, but that’s not the point. The whole purpose of the vehicle is to offer the best driving experience you can have for the road, and that is something that Porsche clearly knows how to achieve. Motor Trend drives the already legendary R in their latest episode of Ignition.
