First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the Lazareth LM847 could very well be the world’s most insane motorcycle.

While at first it might appear impossible to ride, it’s actually completely functional, as the video below proves.

Power for the LM847 comes courtesy of a Maserati-sourced V8 displacing 4.7-liters. It delivers a manic 470 HP and 457 lb-ft of torque, figures impressive for a car let alone a motorbike. To fit that behemoth of an engine however, some compromises have been made.

For starters, the bike actually has four wheels which are hinged together with short axles to allow the 880 pounds (400 kg) beast to lean through corners. Then there’s the little fact that the rider has to awkwardly hunch over the engine itself, inevitably while getting a very warm chest.

What’s more, the French made monster only has a single-speed transmission meaning it is effectively useless for everyday riding.

But something like the Lazareth isn’t about practicality, it’s about being different and being seen and in those departments, it delivers with thunderous V8 power.
