Remember the T-Cross Breeze Concept? Well, it looks like Volkswagen may have some plans with it.
A set of patent images allegedly showing the production variant of the T-Cross Breeze were published by Motor.es, but are they the real deal? Will Volkswagen actually produce a convertible SUV?
Straight off the bat after being unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen said the T-Cross Breeze offered a first look at a newly developed model, designed to be an affordable fun car that’s also suitable for everyday use.
Believed to signal a Polo-based crossover, the concept is part of the German automaker’s initiative to offer an exciting product in every relevant segment.
More interesting, as Herbert Diess, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG said at that time, a production version won’t necessarily adopt a conventional five-door body style:
“At the moment the T-Cross Breeze is purely a concept, but we can well imagine putting such a convertible on the market as a production model.”
However, in this case, we’re probably looking at the patents for the concept itself, since the images appear to respect the T-Cross Breeze’s every last detail, including the cabin’s center console and dual screens – which makes it harder to believe they’ll make it in an “affordable, fun car”.
