Pickup trucks are big business in Texas. In fact, nearly a quarter of all the pickups sold in America are sold in the Lone Star state.
Little wonder, then, that automakers flock to the Texas State Fair to unveil their latest trucks and create special editions specifically for that state’s market. Like the new Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition.
This special edition of a special edition goes big on chrome. It features a chrome grille frame filled with chrome mesh, chrome bumpers, chrome sideview mirror housings, chrome side steps, and polished wheels, tow hooks, and beltline moldings. Not enough chrome for Texas? It also sports special chrome badges as well.
Based on the Ram 1500 Crew Cab, the Lone Star Silver edition will be available with two- or four-wheel drive, with a short or long bed, with cloth or vinyl upholstery, and with a choice of 3.6-liter V6, 5.7-liter V8, or 3.0-liter diesel engine options.
Pricing starts at $38,995 (plus a $1,320 destination charge), representing a $900 premium. The new model is set to arrive at dealers across Texas before the year is out.
