Created to comply with the Group A regulations of the World Rally Championship, the sixth-gen Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 is a rare, capable model. And here’s one already prepped for winning.
If you plan to get such a machine, you might as well go for the rally variant. This clean looking example is up for grabs on eBay for £15,000 ($19,843), and for that kind of cash, you’ll get a car with a well-documented race history, stretching from 1993 – 2010. Moreover, the ad states that the Galant was owned only by Finnish drivers, and we all know they’re the best when it comes to rallying; there’s even an old saying in rallying, “if you want to win, employ a Finn”.
Anyway, besides having a racing pedigree, this Galant VR-4 is also a championship winning Group N car, although it’s been retired and part of a private collection for quite some time now. That may explain the great condition the car’s in, but its current seller states that the Mitsu has always been maintained, regardless of cost.
Mechanically it’s in a top-notch condition, ready to compete once again. In road going spec, the car featured power-assisted, speed-sensitive four-wheel steering, and it was powered by the 4G63T 2.0-litre engine capable of boasting up to 195 hp.
