There’s a reason why Hyundai and Bisimoto have nicknamed this Sante-Fe, the “Santa-Fast”; actually, there are 1,040 reasons, or shall we say, horses. Yes, this heavily tuned Hyundai Santa-Fe that will be presented at the 2016 SEMA Show this fall, comes with rear-wheel drive and more power than an Italian hypercar
The 1,040HP Santa-Fast is rocking a flex-fuel turbocharged Hyundai-based 3.9-liter Lambda V6 unit, sending all the king’s horses to the rear wheels.
Of course, the Bisimoto team is no stranger to modified street, show and race vehicles, and this 1,029 HP Honda Odyssey is just one recent example of their work.
“Bisimoto takes pleasure in making any vehicle fun to drive, even a larger SUV,” said company owner Bisi Ezerioha. “Our Santa-Fast SUV is a proof-of-concept vehicle with driving capabilities that our customers can count on every day they turn the key.”
Bisimoto worked hard on the custom rear-drive and six-speed manual gearbox conversions in order to achieve the OEM-like appearance and function. In order to allow for optimal traction, the transmission relies a boost-per-gear protocol, while the full powertrain boost is rated at 39 psi.
Among the Santa-Fast’s most notable mods are the custom twin-turbo kit (Twin Turbonetics) and intercooler, AEM Electronics, Infinity 708 ECU, boost-control solenoid, custom exhaust with dual-pulse chambers, Five-O racing 2200cmc injectors and the Spearco intercooler core. There are also plenty of drivetrain changes such as the custom Rothfab rear sub-frame conversion, the Hyundai Equus rear differential, the Genesis R-Spec gearbox, custom axles and half shaft plus the KW coil-over suspension.
Outside, the car features a Denmatic design scheme, a Gatorwraps auto wrap, Hyundai Genuine Accessories mudguards and a custom grille.
As for the interior, we’re looking at at a custom console-mounted shifter, Momo Daytona EVO seats, Bisimoto reservoir socks, 4-point chromo roll cage and Crow restraint harnesses.
The 2016 SEMA Show takes place November 1st through November 4th at the Last Vegas Convention Center.
