Following the introduction of the Polestar performance package to the XC90 in 2015, Volvo has just introduced the same upgrades to the S90 and V90 as well.
Developed in close cooperation the racing drivers and engineers of Polestar Cyan Racing, the bundle of upgrades tweaks the entire drivetrain by improving the overall engine performance, gearshift speed and precision and throttle and off-throttle response.
“We continue to enhance the performance of Volvo’s new, class-leading SPA vehicle architecture and Drive-E powertrains. The S90 and V90 already offer excellent driving dynamics, and we are delighted to raise the performance level even further with Polestar Performance Optimization“, said Polestar’s COO, Niels Moller.
The D5 PowerPulse diesel is the first version of the S90 and V90 available for optimization and the upgrade takes the engine’s standard output of 235 HP and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque and transforms it into 240 HP and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, for an additional £835 ($1,111) on the UK market. The upgrades don’t interfere with warranties, service intervals, emissions and fuel consumption of the standard cars, as the Swedish manufacturer explains.
