Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to perform a mid-cycle facelift for their first compact crossover, the GLA.
Captured in motion on the roads of Germany, the latest prototype has dropped most of its camouflage save for a few vinyl strips on the front and rear ends.
Compared to the current model, the facelifted GLA will gain redesigned headlights and taillights, along with a tweaked grille and slightly updated bumpers. It will also come with new wheel patterns and the usual cabin trim mods, smartphone connectivity and an upgraded infotainment system.
There is still no info on any changes performed in the engine lineup, but if it will follow its platform-sharing sibling, the A-Class hatch, then it could gain a new entry-level variant with a 101 HP 1.6-liter mill.
The most potent member of the family, the AMG GLA 45, has already been reworked and it boasts 376 horsepower, an impressive number for a 2.0-liter, four-banger, so it remains to be seen whether Mercedes has anything in store for it when it will go official next year.
