With its sleek profile, low-slung roof line and curvaceous hips, it’s hard to believe that the design of the Volkswagen Scirocco is eight years old. While it may seem quite up-to-date, Hong Kong tuning company Aspec has decided to freshen up the three-door sports model a little bit.
Seemingly taking inspiration from the world of rallying, the Hong Kong-based company has outfitted the Scirocco R with a comprehensive widebody kit. Alongside the flared wheel arches, the kit includes a bespoke front fascia with huge air intakes, a blacked-out grille, LED daytime running lights and an ankle-snapping splitter.
Also up front, the model has been fitted with a new bonnet incorporating prominent air vents to extract hot air from the engine bay. The profile meanwhile is characterized by extended skirts and a set of custom wheels.
The front and sides of the car are certainly bold but it is the rear-end where the rally car-inspiration has been taken to an entirely new level. Most notably, the Scirocco has been fitted with a towering roof-mounted rear wing that looks like it came straight off a WRC car. The wing alone changes the entire look of the rear-end and has then been complemented with new quad tailpipes, a distinctive diffuser and a beefed-up bumper with triangular air vents.
